Hi there. First of all, let me tell you how much you inspire me to go out there and share the gospel through music. Second of all, I want to thank you for this great blog and I do have a suggestion for your web admin. Would it be possible for you to use http://www.viddyou.com for your video posts? I think it would be better for all of us who have enough bandwidth to see high-def videos and it would help to see better the fast changes. Thanks again and God bless!

Hey Rolf,
I’ve noticed that when you play the chorus, you are using mainly your fingers and not your wrist or arm to make the drumstick hit the hi hat. How do you do this? Like how would you practice to get a great grip like yours? Also are you hitting the hi hat on the top or side?
Thanks for taking time to make these videos!

Judaxs those black things on top of the drums are rubber pads which keep the noise level down.

Hi Brian. Yes - rubber pads. You’re right. When it comes to developing your finger technique - check out what Marco Minneman or Jojo Mayer have to say about it. They are great at explaining those exercises. I use arm - wrist, and fingers when I play. But it is well worth spending some time exclusively on your fingers.

Thanks for a great video Rolf. I would like to know if you drummers always use a click track in-ear metronome on all of your live recordings? If so, how do go about organising the rest of the team to come in with you? It may be easy when you as the drummer do the count it, but on other tracks it seems that you all start together. Was an in-ear click track used on all of the tracks on the I Heart Revolution album?
Thanks again for your great skill and knowledge!
