3 pedals that I currently use:
Lovepedal - "Eternity"
great as a clean boost, treble boost, or overdrive
Voodoolabs - Sparkle Drive
Fulltone - OCD

Hello people!

I'm from Brasil. I don't like to use a distorion pedal by he make a very dirty song.
In my efects set's, I just only use the Marshall booster, and if I'm using another amplifier I use a Jackhammer pedal to get a great overdrive.

Let's play guitar!!

sorry that link didn't really work right. You'd have to copy and paste the whole thing to get right to the pedalboard pic.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Fulltone GT-500! I just got it a month or so ago, and it freakin' rocks! The other overdrive on my main pedalboard is a Keeley Blues Driver. Here's a picture of my pedalboard: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/photo.php?pid=11587684&id=504290424

I have tried just about every overdrive out there, and honestly nothing compares to the Diamond J-Drive, its has everything you would want on a overdrive plus amazeing tone and it also come with a clean boost channel... try it out you wont regret it.

Hey everyone,

I'm just looking for some advice on a couple of things since I'm fairly new to this pedal business! Here's what I've got now:

Epiphone Les Paul Custom
Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive
Boss DD-5 + Boss FS-5U
Squier Reverb
Marshall MG 15W

Yep very small rig at this point, like I said I'm new to all this stuff. I use two amps so that I can balance the sound in my church's sanctuary, so it doesn't sound like it's just coming from one side of the stage. The Marshall amp isn't even mine, borrowed it from my cousin and never gave it back, ahaha, and the Squier, I found lying in my church's basement.

I was wondering what other OD pedal would sound great with my Sparkle Drive that I just bought last week? Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet? Jekyll & Hyde? Btw, I saw a J&H selling for $100 on Craigslist a couple of days ago. I'm guessing that's really cheap for what it's actually worth. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Last question: Any suggestions on what settings to put my Sparkle Drive? I know how Nigel, Jad, & Timon set theirs, but do any of you use a setting that suits the "Hillsong sound" by only using a Sparkle Drive as an OD?

Wow I write/type too much! Anyways, would love it if someone replied back! It is a real encouragement reading this whole discussion!

Thanks & God Bless everyone!

Choice of overdrive pedals depends on your guitar\pickups and amp(s) and volume level\bands instrumentation and the enviroment you are playing in.

I split stereo to a Marshall VM on vintage channel(slight ballsy breakup)and a Fender deluxe tweed (clean).

I use a Subdecay Liquid Sunshine for JANGLY tones and goose either a Zvex Box of Rock for Marshall sounds or a Catalinbread WIIO for over the top Vox tones.
I run a Red Witch Famulus (A channel set 10 o clock) (into the Box of Rock for Hendrix(9:40 o clock on B.o.R.) to ACDC Plexitone (gain about 1/2 on B.o.R.)or into the WIIO for Mesa type high gain tones.

Any of these pedals sound great alone but the combinations (through a Carl Martin Octa-switcher) are paradise to my ears and do not require much tweaking.
I use a Tele (w single coils).
Hope this advice helps someone 'cause I have experimented for years at low and high volumes and owned/borrowed/traded about 40 + pedals to figure out what works for me.

The guitar and amp and your fingers are what really make the sound;you are just the player.

Get a good guitar and amp, practise with others and listen to LOTS of different music instead of obsessing about tone too much.

Tyler, the Sparkle Drive has been kicked off the board. but yes he used it as a clean boost since i believe the gain knob is broken on it.

anybody else use boost pedals? i stack my ODs life Droff does, so does that make boost pedals useless since everythings sort of a boost pedal?
