Which type are you?

So I came across a very familiar verse in the book of Acts…20:35 “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Now I’ve heard that verse time and time again but it wasn’t until this week that I’ve really given it much thought. I was thinking about this concept of giving and how it is often a foreign concept in our self focused society. In recent days I’ve come to the conclusion that there are 2 types of people in life - Givers and Takers.
In our culture we are almost encouraged to have a ‘take take take’ mentality and look out for our own interests before anyone else’s. I love that the very core and nature of our God is to give. “For God so loved the world that he gave.” If Eph 5:1 instructs us to be ‘Imitators of God’ then I want to do everything I can to be a giver. A giver of time, a giver of encouragement, a giver of love and acceptance, and when it comes time for the offering buckets to come around, I want to be a giver of money too, what ever I can do to see His Kingdom established, whatever I can do to see people come into the intimate relationship with God that they were born for! Are you more of a giver or taker in life???
