ALL OR NOTHING
Posted by josh | Filed under cityfuel, hillsfuel, summercamp
SUMMERCAMP seriously was out of control, I will never forget the fun and the God moments we had… My prayer is that we dont allow Summercamp to just be a one off event but that we carry that same hunger and passion and expectation to see God move in our lives and in the lives of those around us, into our schools, friendship circles, Fuel and church on the weekend… Lets give Jesus our all this yr, we know He gave his all for us… Its all or nothing!
Much Love!

Your Stories from Summer Camp

“Hey Kane,
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUMMER CAMP!!!!
It has changed my life dramatically!! I see life in a whole new perspective. I have gained confidence in many new ways that I haven’t been confident in before camp!! I have made so many new friends that I will have for life, I have been given opportunities to shine in the Glory of God!! Your message impacted me in that I am confident enough to go up to a stranger and just speak words of life into their situation!! And being prayed over by other strangers has helped me realise that I can go out and be the change that needs to come on the Earth!!!I love it that you and Karla (whom I might add is an amazing women of God that we all adore) have taken over the city campus in the youth department, you bring such a new flavour and variety that none of the church has ever seen before!! Doing a good job!!”

“One of my boys from my Connect Andrew from Grade 9 gave his life to Christ about 3 months ago at connect he said he had always heard of Jesus from his friends but never knew that he could have a relationship with him. Since this time within connect I have seen such a hunger within him for the things of God. At connect he is always vocal and excited when we explore the Word of God but is still very unsure of himself. When I started to talk about summercamp in connect I just knew that he had to come but he said he couldn’t afford it but thanks to the generosity of our church we were able to send him on camp.
I expected God to move so much in his life at camp but God as usual had other plans. From the first night meeting he loved it he got into the worship and really was challenged by the word from Kimesy he believed that message was for him and knew that he had to do something in his school, he said to me there is no more talking about doing something it is time for action. At RDG times he was very vocal and alert, when Sanga spoke on piercing our ears for the word of God he was hungrier than ever for the word and since camp has been delving into the Word. He got filled with the Holy Spirit and instantly started to speak in tongues. Since camp he has just been so eager to get back into his schools to do something for God. He has decided to make Hillsong Church his home church and is getting baptised this Sunday.
Thanks to everybody on the team who has been obedient to the call on your life I know what great responsibility lies on you all. I know without a doubt that young people went home changed and empowered and equipped to every good work for God.”

“Summer Camp radically shook up the attitudes, mindsets and identities of my girls! Growing up in church and Christian families, they fed off their parent’s faith; they didn’t really know him for themselves and thus became very complacent and disinterested in the things of God. But at summer camp, their own faith and passion was stirred, they as individuals were encouraged not only to take a stand in their schools but that God has equipped them to do so! The Holy Spirit spoke directly to their insecurities, healing shame and breaking the power of lies spoken over them. My girls now walk tall, they’re different people because they know not only who they are Jesus, but who’s they are!!!
I’ve been to 10 summer camps and this was the ultimate! On ya Kimesy, you carried it sooooo well! Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you sewed into it, seen and unseen, my girls will never be the same and i know your sacrifice has a large role to play in that!”

“There was a young yr 7 girl - Emily…who on the first day was super shy…super quiet…& during sign-in kept running away and huddling under her mums arms. By midway through Summercamp, she had made new friends & was even asking if she could pray when we broke off into small groups during the night rallies. She also got right into the dress-up / tribe spirit during the last few meetings & was the one initiating conversations. There was a fresh sprout of confidence birthed within her.”

“One of the girls - Justine - had real breakthrough. For the last few months she had been feeling really dry and almost questioning if God really existed. She was dealing with a few self issues & had felt really pressured. But at camp (especially in the last few sessions) she really felt like she stepped out of her comfort zone and that she (in a way) re-opened her heart up to God again. She feels refreshed and re-alive in Him…and found herself stepping out and passionately praying for others and felt re-fuelled.”

“I was chatting with a few of the girls last night…Eleanor in particular- and she mentioned that on the last night when the RDG were praying together…they were overwhelmed with a radical passion for their school and for their friends and they were all crying and burdened to see things change in their school this year. They feel like their hearts have been burdened yet again with great desire to be the change in their schools. ”
