Mosaic
So I’m stuck in Matt 1:1-17…
This is the genealogy of Jesus. So much can be said about this passage. It names them all without much detail.
We have often gone in and had a look at individuals and highlighted how God used individual people despite their shortcomings. The fact is this though. They were all broken people.
Mosaic is the art form of bringing broken pieces of colored glass or stones together and creating something beautiful, most famous are those in churches, where the light shines through.
This lineage is truly the first mosaic. Individually some might have been good and others might have been messed up but the truth is that every single one of them and all of us are all broken and it is by the grace of God that He brings us together and lets HIS light shine through us, creating something beautiful. What an amazing God! What an AMAZING GRACE!!!!
God, let me not despise individual pieces of glass today. I pray that I will see my part but also recognize that other people might be broken and colored with opinion and hurt but in the light of Christ, you create something beautiful. I love you, Amen.

I absolutely love this analogy and I must say, I’ve never heard it before (at least that I can remember), which is rare.. And I love that it’s such a simple concept brought by a different view point. I will definately be taking and expanding this for a class with my high schoolers.. Thanks!
