FIRST RESPONSE.
Emergency Relief
The Syrian conflict is the deadliest conflict the 21st century has witnessed thus far. The conflict has caused the largest displacement crisis in the world. Over 4.8 million refugees and 6.3 million internally displaced people (IDPs). 13.5 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Fearful for their lives and in an effort to protect their children, families are fleeing their homes, often with nothing but the clothes on their backs. People fleeing conflict need all of the basics to sustain their lives including food, clothing, shelter, medical and health assistance and household and hygiene items. They need access to clean water and sanitation facilities (World Vision). The winter months are harsh; hot meals, health care and winter appropriate clothing and shelter are desperately needed, especially for children. Already dire food shortages and the destruction of health facilities is making survival increasingly difficult for thousands of civilians.

PROJECT PARTNER.
Preemptive Love Coalition (PLC) is a global movement of peacemakers committed to unmaking violence by confronting fear with acts of love—because they really believe the greatest love is to lay down their lives for others. PLC provide food, water, shelter, and medical care for families on the front lines of conflict. They go to places that are dangerous, oppressed, or forgotten, bringing hope where no one else will go and loving those who no one else will love. They are first in, last to leave. In addition to providing essential relief for those devastated by war, they provide education for at-risk children and business empowerment grants so people can rebuild their lives. Their work is based on relationship, living alongside the people they serve, building trust across cultural, religious, and ethnic divides. With 15 years of continued presence in the Middle East, they have built lasting, meaningful relationships, allowing a deep understanding of the needs in each local environment.

PLC are supplying thousands of mattresses and bedding supplies to mothers, fathers, and children who were driven from their homes – many of whom are sleeping out in the open. The sleeping bags are made locally by other refugees, providing them with a vital source of income, while giving shelter to those who are fleeing. Each mattress/bedding combination is large enough to accommodate a mother and two children.

THE PROJECT.
Food Relief & Shelter From The Cold, ALEPPO, SYRIA
$325 AUD can feed 10 families for a month.
We are partnering with Preemptive Love Coalition to provide emergency food, shelter, and critical supplies to families on the run. You can help to bring lifesaving support to those still behind the front lines. You can provide one month’s supply of food to thousands of families in and around Aleppo.
$978 AUD can provide mattresses and bedding for 50 people.
For those sleeping with no other shelter, mattresses and bedding – given through your generosity – can bring comfort and security for those who have fled their homes to escape violence.

LOCAL CHURCH AWARENESS.
If you are part of a local church we encourage you to be mindful of your local church vision and be sure to graciously submit and share your heart with those in leadership in your life. We believe we should see this as an ‘above and beyond’ endeavour that has the capacity to reach out and build bridges into our unchurched communities and ultimately be a blessing.

PRAY.
Together we are praying for a ceasefire and an end to the conflict. We pray that the various armed forces will stand down from personal power agendas and make their people the priority. We pray for safety and protection and for lives to be spared. We pray for access to quality humanitarian assistance and safety for humanitarian actors. We pray for courage, compassion and commitment from world leaders, with the focus on children, families and communities over geopolitical agendas. We pray for adequate funding of relief efforts and for effective coordination among agencies responding. We pray for healing from trauma and injury. We pray for the safety, health and wellbeing for the children of Syria and we pray that families will be able to return home and for hope to be sustained.
