TRAUMA-INFORMED TRAINING

A trauma-informed approach

Equipping Kids & Youth Ministry teams with an understanding of trauma and its impacts, in order to provide programs that are safe and inclusive for all children.

There are almost 45,000 children in Out-of-home Care in Australia and this number has been increasing.

Our Village Project is a response to two key challenges faced in caring for children in Out-of-home Care in our country:

I. ensuring there is an adequate number of families to provide home-based care, and

II. providing comprehensive support for carers to ensure placement stability on a child’s pathway to permanency.

We want to provide loving homes of healing and hope, either for a time or forever, within safe and inclusive communities. We are not all called to foster a child or young person, but we can all do something to support those who are.

Our Village Project is currently being piloted in Melbourne, Victoria.
