Each week, our team at Hillsong CityCare assist more than 130 people through our Emergency Relief program. Through this initiative, we are able to provide practical assistance to individuals and families facing hardship, with vouchers for energy bills and also by providing food and necessary hygiene products.
Our ‘Kilo of Kindness’ initiative, where we hand out bags and encourage our congregation to fill them with a ‘Kilo of Kindness’ (non-perishable food items and hygiene products), is one of the main reasons we are able to offer this assistance to people in our community.
Last weekend, thanks to the thoughtfulness of individuals and families that brought their ‘Kilo of Kindness’, we collected over 20,000 food items. This amazing generosity will enable us to assist thousands more families in the weeks and months ahead.
On Easter Sunday night in downtown Sydney, some members of our team met a family who had been living out of their car. Immediately, we were able to provide them with food and baby food, and we were able to organise assistance for fresh produce and direct them to support for the days ahead.
Thank you for your Kilos of Kindness. Peoples lives are being changed by your generosity and together we are making a difference.
