Y&F Day 38

21 November 2013

You are with me
In every step that I take
Your love for me
You have called me by name
(Brighter)

Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?
– Hebrews 13:5-6 (MSG)

The first time you ever learned to ride your bike was probably super memorable.

Remember that feeling of World Domination when you mastered the art of riding with training wheels – you felt like you could go anywhere, do anything…aaaaaas long as it was in your back yard (we’ve all experienced that look mum gives us when we get too close to the road!!).

Then came the time you were such a boss at the training wheels that you had no choice but to graduate to the big boys’ league – TWO WHEELS.

After a few first failed attempts & near give-up moments where you thought “maybe this time I’ll get it”, you gave up in frustration and walked away.

Some of us gave up completely. Some needed a few days to pep-talk yourself enough to want to try again (thanks to some bandaids, a chocolate and a Rocky speech in the mirror).
Maybe this time you’ll get it.

The Bible is full of stories from cover to cover that talks about the faithfulness of God. All throughout the Old Testament & New Testament, we see so many instances in which humanity failed God. Not just the “baddies”, but at times even the Christians (those closest to God; those who “knew better”) stuffed up too.

But how amazing is God’s capacity to love??
He doesn’t get so frustrated that He gives up on us all together, nor does He “take a few days off” to convince Himself that this time it might work, this time we might get it right.
No.

He was already convinced that He would love us and would never leave us before we were even born!!

Wow. What a promise.
Imagine if we started our days knowing that no matter what happens in the next 24-hrs, God still loves us and He is still with us and despite our falls he picks us up, puts us back on our bike and says “Try again, I know you can do it”.

So today, thank God that He is with You every step that you take.
As you go to school, or to work, or as you hang out with your family & friends, you can be confident in the fact that He’s there with you, ready to help you be all that He created you to be.
