GOD IS WITH US

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
MATTHEW 1:23 [NIV]

There are over 200 names of God in the Bible that are used to relate to His character, nature and how He works. Jesus was called Immanuel because the name characterises His mission: He came down to Earth to be with us and display His saving grace. He not only walked the Earth but also left us His Holy Spirit so we never have to be alone. God is omnipresent – He is close and He is everywhere all of the time.

Creation screams His glory – everywhere we look we can see God’s hand. However, in this fallen world life can unfold in unexpected ways, leaving us questioning God, “Where are you?” We need to know and be encouraged that even in situations where we can’t see the breakthrough, the miracle or the realised dream, we know that God is working on our behalf and that He is with us!

Jesus clearly tells us in John 14 that He would not leave us as orphans but is with us always. There may be areas of life where you feel completely abandoned and alone with no-one to lean on… know that Immanuel, the God above all, is with you.
