A number of years ago we gave a water bottle and a t-shirt to the delegates of Colour Conference, with the aim of inspiring them to perhaps WALK FOR FREEDOM. Over the past few years many of those delegates have done just that. They have organised walks to raise money to release victims of human trafficking, they have walked and prayed and seen miracles happen with victims being freed and perpetrators being prosecuted and they have raised awareness through walking through the streets of major cities making a statement that trafficking is not ok.
This simple gift has inspired hundreds of women across the world to take the time to declare the message of value and freedom in our communities. In Europe over the past year we have seen walks in Paris, Barcelona and Germany raising awareness of human trafficking and raising funds to see freedom for people they may never meet.
This year, The A21 Campaign, with whom we have partnered since their inception, has declared the 18th October a global WALK FOR FREEDOM day. Groups of people all over the globe will be walking to declare freedom for the captives. As a local Sisterhood in Australia we will be joining in this initiative and walking in eight different locations across the Eastern Coast of Australia during the month of October.
If you want to be a part of this global initiative please visit a21campaign.org and download their resources to join this global walk for freedom. If this all seems a little daunting there are step by step instructions in our ‘Little Brave Book’ which is available on our website.
There are so many ways that you can be involved and it takes us all to do our part to make a difference. If you are not able to join one of the walks around the globe perhaps you could make a donation or download a prayer map from our website and choose to join us in prayer this month for those yet to be rescued.
So whether you are walking, running, supporting, donating or praying let’s believe that this month will be a significant month of breakthrough. “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done”
