Charlotte's Story

Hello all the way from not-so-sunny Northern Ireland!

I attended Colour Conference in London this year (incredible by the way!) and went home with my little tin in my bag waiting for inspiration to strike.

In the end I decided to use it for the kids in our community. I work for a local church as their kid’s worker and every year we get about 150-200 kids from all sections of our very divided community across our doors. Many of them come from difficult financial situations with parents who struggle to make ends meet. Unfortunately some of these kids have parents who can provide for them but instead the family wage goes on alcohol or drugs to feed addiction in the home.

So using your tin as my inspiration I got some other girls in our church a tin of their own. Then we all pledged to put in £2 a week until our summer club. With the money raised we were able to purchase for every child all of their school stationary, pencils, pens, glue etc and all of it was housed in a little pencil case with a label reminding them of how much they are loved.

It was just incredible watching them all march out with their little gifts under their arms and we are praying that that small seed of love sewn into homes all around our community will bring forth much fruit for the kingdom.

Thank you for your faithfulness to the call of God on your lives. Your example is effecting more people than you could ever imagine. On the days when complaints are many and encouragement is few remind yourself that the God that you serve will not allow one moment of your life lived sacrificially for him be wasted. Keep your eyes on the prize.

Much love

Your sister in Christ
