Stuff the Bus - Love Makes A Way

Jan 16 2015

Our Hillsong Stuff the Bus Christmas Appeal in 2014 received over 91,000 toys and food items across all our Australian campuses.

Your generosity enabled our CityCare staff and volunteers to pack 4,037 food hampers and wrap 6,385 toy packs.

With the help of 115 external agencies, these have been distributed to people in need in our communities.

The numbers of food hampers and toy packs represent many untold lives being impacted by a generous hearted church, committed to bringing the love and hope of Christ into impossible situations.

One such story is illustrated in this letter from a beautiful family that was blessed through our Street Teams and Stuff the Bus this past year:

“My family and I would love to wish all the Hillsong members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We want to say a big THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for all the help you have given to us throughout the year.

We know that you all volunteer your time to come and help clean so that we can have a beautiful stress-free day with our family, and we are so grateful for everything.

Thank you to the cooks for our lovely yummy meals, and the men who came and tidied our yard. We really appreciate the hard work you all put in, we are so blessed to have beautiful people come into our lives, especially at this point of time.

The last 3 years have been a real struggle for my family and especially me because I have to be the strong one. When I recently got the news that my baby girl’s cancer is now incurable my world came crashing down.

I was thinking that there is nothing that anyone can do to help us now, but you all gave me generosity, and made sure you gave us a great start to our weekend with a clean house and beautiful meals to last throughout the week.

I also really enjoyed the conversations we had and our laughs, especially to the girls who helped inside with me, miss u girls 🙂 Thank you for being here for my family and I.

The kids would love to say thank you all for their gifts they received for Christmas, and the hamper as well.

My eldest son who is 11 years old wanted to let you know you’re all awesomeJ, I hope you all come visit us again, you’re always welcome for a cup of tea or to say hi… You have all made a place in our hearts…

Bless you all,

Nicole, Levi, Tyrell, Shyloh, & Vaughny boy”

Thank you church for your overwhelming generosity and support. Love always makes a way!
