I want to start by saying how in AWE I am of what God is doing with the girls in South Africa. Over 5500 girls gathered on a Saturday morning across 5 locations to lift up name of Jesus and 167 girls gave their lives to Jesus Christ!
We will never grow familiar with what we are a part of. The girls came out in force, full of passion and expectation for all God was going to do. We started the day with the best welcome by all our incredible team of men ready to place value and dignity on all the women…
We created a sense of festival and vibe by having the WORLD’S BIGGEST BAKE SALE, with the proceeds going towards bringing as many girls as possible who are unable to afford to come to our Colour Conference this April otherwise.
The women were serenaded with love songs, pampered and treated with
beautiful banana bread and loved on by our incredible Sisterhood team.
The message of the day still resonates within my heart. It is from the scripture in Song of Solomon 2:10-13 which says, “My beloved spoke and said to me, Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come away with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come away with me.”
I thought I would recap just 3 of her key thoughts to encourage you on your journey.
Can I encourage every girl to keep arising and determining not to let anything keep you back, hold you down or limit you this year. This is our year!
This is the reminder of all reminders to keep coming away and spending time with Jesus. He says “Come away my beloved”. I guess if we were to sum up the MOST important thing of all, it is to take time to come away with Jesus, to love Jesus, be with Jesus and live a real, authentic and powerful relationship with Him. Nothing beats that in all the world! I think in 2015, if we live our life from this position, it will change everything.
I believe as we arise and come away, we will SEE not just with natural eyes but with supernatural eyes all that God has for us.
One of our incredible girls shared in her giving message this past weekend that this year should be a year of “more looking up and less looking around.” How good is that! As we continue to look up, we will see all that our awesome Saviour is wanting to do.
At Sisterhood, the worship is always on another level, Gifts are given, girls are honoured and a generous army of girls always extend themselves to causes greater then themselves.
So in essence, I want to thank everyone who came along and was part of making HISTORY! God has a PLAN for every girl in AFRICA! THE BEST IS YET TO COME…
