Last year at Y+F conference I watched Carl Lentz preach and during his sermon Psalm 23:1 came on screen and it said “In Jesus I lack nothing”. At this moment I was captivated. Jesus really spoke to me a revelation of “compromise”. Revealing that, because of Him I could not compromise my standards, dreams and relationships. Due to the fact that I have complete access to the best and nothing less through him. At this moment, Jesus set me free from things enslaving me such as negative thoughts, small-thinking and unhealthy friendships. He then planted this seed of compassion for kids in my school…to see lives being saved. He spoke to me about the importance of leaving a legacy that would pave the way for students following me. And doing this so unashamedly…after all, what did I have to lose when I have everything I need in him? So, I’ve been working with my chaplain trying to grow our lunch time group giving students the opportunity to encounter Jesus and to experience what it’s like to be valued and appreciated.
