But God Looks At The Heart

Jul 21 2015

A stand out moment for me this year, was when Joel spoke on the Wednesday morning of Conference. He shared so honestly about how with everything we see in life, there is so much beneath the surface that we don’t see and we need to be people who are brave enough to deal with the real issues of the heart. Man looks out the outward appearance but God looks to the heart.

In the best way, I felt as though God was undoing my heart and reminding me again that what He wants most from me is my heart. Joel read one of my favourite scriptures which is Psalm 51 in the Message:

Unbutton my lips, dear God;
I’ll let loose with Your praise.
Going through the motions doesn’t please you,
a flawless performance is nothing to you.
I learned God worship when my pride was shattered.
Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.
