When I first saw an advertisement for Colour Conference in a Christian magazine back in the 90’s, I thought, Oh my gosh, how amazing would it be to be able to attend? Ron and I were living in the states and were attending Bible school at the time. Going to Sydney was way out of my reach. I dreamed about going and really believed I would be forever changed, if I could ever get there. I tucked that dream away inside my heart and decided to trust God that some how, some day, I would be able to attend.
I was so excited in 2009 when I got the opportunity to attend my first Colour Conference in London with my oldest daughter and some of my friends. It was honestly a dream come true! There is something powerful when the girls gather in His presence. I sat with tears in my eyes the entire conference. I felt as if each speaker was speaking directly to me! I had been going through a very difficult time in my life and began to doubt that I was even called to ministry. I felt like God pierced through my brokenness and renewed a desire in me to reach the women in Africa.
At my first Colour Conference, God reminded me that He has a plan and a purpose for me, and I was where He wanted me, right here in Africa. He wants every girl to know that they are loved and valued by an Almighty Father and He has a special plan for each of us. He thinks every girl is amazing and wants them to know that.
What a privilege it is to have Colour Conference right here in South Africa! I am so blessed to be a part of what He is doing here in our country and across the continent. Girls, don’t miss out on this opportunity for God to speak that God-whisper and do something very special in your life.
