I’ve been putting this off because this offering feels so weighty. Knowing just a sliver of the sacrifice, most of which goes unseen, I would hate to waste words or cheapen why I feel compelled to tell you about this dangerous declaration, Let There Be Light.
Authoritative in stance and bold with faith, it’s no wonder that we are called to speak light and life into this broken, dark world that we live in and offer people hope.
There are songs on here, that as we’ve sung them in our church have really challenged me personally. Do I really believe what I’m confessing? Will I trust blindly in the sovereignty of my JESUS when I can’t see? I know that it says that the pure in heart see God, but am I willing to be purified by the fire of God? Do I believe in the fullness of Jesus’ name and in the middle of lack and pain will I sing like I’m free, healed and whole, whether I see it on this side of eternity or the other?
I guess I’m praying that the sounds and lyrics off this album will help shape your confession in seasons present and ones to come, especially the ones where we find our faith wavering, that your heart, soul, mind and body would be filled with wonder, awe, hope, faith, courage, joy and strength to do all that God has called you to do.
Let There Be Light
“’I’m sending you off to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I’m sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me.’”
