Ambassadors of Heaven
Carsten and I have been parents for 25 years and one of the most valuable experiences we can pass on to any parent is the power of being an example. Words have a powerful effect if they are backed up by actions. Carsten used to be a swimmer. And being a very good athlete, exercise has always been and is still a part of his daily life. He wanted our three boys to be active and healthy during their childhood, just like he was. But he never had to spend much time persuading them to do sports. They just lived out the example of their father. Being physically active just became such a natural part of their lives.
Jesus wants us to live out His example in our own lives. He showed us how to live life. We should continue to study His life and pray that His actions become a natural part of our lives. Healing and miracles flowed from Jesus wherever He went. And so it should flow from our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. This hurting world needs His healing power.
Rom. 8:19 says, “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the Children of God to be revealed.” (NIV) The world is desperate for a God to bring hope and restoration. We are His children and ambassadors of heaven. If people are sick around you, ask them if you can pray for them. And expect God to do miracles!
