This year, Pastor Chrishan Jeyaratnam, Pastor Steve Dixon, and the Hillsong Leadership Network team visited the key megacities of Asia to train church leaders from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Hong Kong, Manila, Taipei and Seoul. Over the years relationships have been built with many churches across all denominations and this year over 600 leaders from 122 churches were trained with insights gained from Hillsong Church‘s 30+ year journey.
Some of these churches are just starting out in lounge rooms, while others are gathering in the biggest arenas in their city. The reality is that in many countries of this region there is a generational crisis happening within the Church, so the team’s experience and training is incredibly valuable. The training focussed around “15 Ways To Create An Atmosphere of Welcome Home,” followed by “Characteristics of Healthy Leadership Culture.”
This input is making a tangible difference. Contributors this year included Miles Toulmin, a Lead Minister in Kuala Lumpur – how one principle he learned last year saw a service that had plateaued grow by nearly 100 people in 3 months. And Peter Palma, a Senior Pastor in Taipei celebrated how one simple change saw their volunteer prayer meeting grow from 5 to 28 in just one week.
Nation Builders enables the Hillsong Network to connect with church leaders across Asia and support the Gospel being proclaimed and the Church being built in this region.
