Living in Zurich, Phil had heard of God but hadn’t experienced Him as a reality in his life. He considered the church to be an old and boring institution.

Before leaving for a holiday in Barcelona, Phil was looking to buy a book to read while he was away. He wasn’t very interested in the bookstore recommendations, so he just picked a book off the shelf. It was called ‘Live Love Lead’, and he decided to give it a go.

As Phil read the book, he became fascinated by the God who was being written about and the way the church was portrayed by the author – Brian Houston, Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church. He couldn’t put the book down, and when he finished it, he Googled Hillsong Church and found that there was one in Barcelona. He visited Hillsong Barcelona and loved it!

When Phil returned from his holiday, he wanted to see if there was a church like Hillsong in Switzerland. To his surprise, he found that there was a Hillsong Church in Zurich. He went along and felt right at home. He joined a Connect Group, which he loves and has become family to him.

Through your faithful Nation Builders giving, you are supporting the beginnings of new Hillsong churches including Hillsong Zurich. We are one house, many rooms, where people are finding Jesus and being welcomed home into the family of God and community.

Your giving makes this possible in very practical ways. Hillsong Zurich has been hosting gatherings, meeting in Connect Groups, building community and preparing teams to be able to start hosting services. With funding made available through Nation Builders, a full-time pastor was employed at the beginning of 2017. This will help the church take significant steps forward this year! Nation Builders will also be able to support a much-needed investment in production equipment, for Hillsong Zurich to be able to take their next steps and host services.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20
