Hello to any and all creative teams — and when I say that, yes I mean you.
If you’re reading this in some way, shape or form it makes me think you either associate with being a creative, you’re on the journey to discovering your place within the creative team or you genuinely stumbled on this page and you’re intrigued ha.
Either way – hi 🙂
This year for me has been quite different. After having both time on the road and at home, I feel like God has been stirring my expectation about what’s yet to be for the rest of the year, both personally and corporately. And classic God, He’s never stirring my heart for something of a separate vision but rather for the things close to His heart— His Church.
Hebrews 10:25 speaks so clearly about considering how we might spur each other on towards love and good deeds, “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another,” and in just one month we get to do just that, at our first ever Hillsong Worship & Creative Conference.
I want to highlight that I just said ‘OUR’ Creative Conference – because I’m wondering as a creative, have you stepped in to this space? Do you realise you can OWN this space? To ask, have I positioned myself front and centre to be where I know God will show up?
Have I made myself available to steal away from the ordinary and create space to listen for the voice of God?
As I write this I’m getting excited, dreaming of all that could take place if we just had the presence of mind to BE PRESENT.
I can recall the defining God-moments where I chose to be present; He dropped things into my heart and changed the course of my life at gatherings like this.
If you haven’t asked yourself these questions or even thought about positioning yourself, may I ask (and creatively this is a challenge for myself too)… what are you reserving yourself for?
Aren’t these the days that people prayed in many years ago?
It’s so easy to sit back, be passive and allow others to take the space.
Yet we are each called to glorify God in all that we do, sinking ourselves into that, taking responsibility for doing our creative best — as the scripture surrounding this whole conference, Galatians 6:4-5 in The Message puts it so beautifully.
“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
So I’d like to leave you with a challenge…
Will you choose to own your space?
For some of you it might look like registering today and if so here’s a link.
For others, you’ve already decided to be present, so I’d like to ask, who was it in your life that inspired confidence in yourself before you had your own?
Hopefully we all have names and faces that come to mind.
Now I’d like to challenge you, who will you inspire confidence within?
It might look like extending beyond yourself and registering someone else on the journey and if so, here’s a link.
I’m praying that as we approach this conference for the first time ever, that God would awaken our heart and spirit to what He wants to do.
We are ALL called to this journey together, to build His church, to have fun doing it and loving each other along the way, and its not WE without YOU. So as creatives, no matter where we come from or where we get to serve, glorifying God doing the creative best that we can with each of our lives – can you believe we get to do this?!
