My name is Gloria. A few years ago I started serving with our Street Teams in the centre of Paris, and in particular with one of the Women’s Shelters we visit on a weekly basis. Through this, I really felt like I was where God wanted me – my hands were His hands for these people, so they could catch a glimpse of Christ’s love for them. I also got involved with NGOs working in East Timor, Indonesia and the Congo.
Due to the pressure of my studies, I had to stop serving with our CityCare team. But I really felt that God wanted me to continue with this mission. I had the opportunity to be a part of the opening of a centre for 456 refugees. After this experience, God placed a vision on my heart to start an initiative called “Homemade for Homeless”. The goal is to care for people living on the street by bringing them healthy homemade meals. Women and stay-at-home mums from church cook these meals. The idea is to bring to these people a sense of warmth and fellowship that you don’t find in a shelter. I just want to start making a difference where I am, one step at a time.
