Sisterhood 8-Day Devotional - Day 5

Revelation. What’s your revelation? Depending on how we interpret that 10-letter word, our answers to that question could vary dramatically. Put simply, the word ‘revelation’ means God’s disclosure, uncovering and impartation of His own nature and His plans and purposes for us.

Now, if you asked yourself that question again, with the above definition in mind, how would you answer it this time?

2 Timothy 2:12 (in The Passion Translation) says, ‘The confidence of my calling enables me to overcome every difficulty without shame, for I have an INTIMATE REVELATION of this God’.  (Okay, let’s be honest, how many of us just read that verse without thinking, or without pondering it?  Let’s read it again, but, this time, consider every word.)

That one verse is packed with power and is, I believe, the foundation of what it means to BE STRONG IN THE REVELATION. Pursuing intimate revelations of God unlocks our confidence, affirms our calling, and enables us to overcome every difficulty without condemnation or humiliation. A revelation that is intimate is close; it is faithful, and devoted. It means that we are constantly listening and ready to receive the revelations God is ready to impart.

If we ever find ourselves questioning our confidence or our calling, or find ourselves in challenging seasons, let’s remember to draw from our intimate revelations of God.  We don’t serve a God who is distant or cold, but a God who is close up and personal, ready to impart His nature, His plans and His purposes to us.

Proverbs 8:6 (TPT): ‘The meaning of my words will release within you REVELATION for you to reign in life …’ So, BE STRONG IN THE REVELATION.
