7 Essentials For Colour Conference 2018

Colour is almost here, girls! And let’s face it…
You gotta come PREPARED.

So you’ve got your Colour Conference Registration all set and ready to go, and you’ve grabbed your gal pals (GREAT! This is step 1!) – what’s next?

We’re so glad you asked! And we’ve pulled together our team to get a list of the most essential things to know (anyone else just froth over a good list??) before going into the most impacting weekend full of worship, the Word, and honest chats about living empowered as daughters of the King.

So grab a notebook or smart phone – you’re gonna want to take these down.

1. PARKING INFO

You’re going to need to give yourself at least 15 minutes to find parking! Downtown LA can be a busy place. This being said, since we’ll be at Orpheum this conference, there is a parking lot right behind the venue (you can turn into the drive way at Two Boots Pizza to get there!). There are also several lots surrounding the Ace Hotel across the street on Broadway!
Might be best to bring some extra cash as well for parking. Though most indoor lots take card, it’s always good to have some quarters on hand, and most outdoor lots take cash.

2. SNACKS

You and your Aunt Dina are GOING to get hungry. And there isn’t always time between sessions to dash to the closest Starbucks and back! So be sure to pack your purse with a big bottle of water and plenty of granola and chocolate! (Sharing is optional. But be warned. We’re family, and if you start the pass of the party-size starburst bag, it may not come back the same as it left.)

3. FOOD & THE LOCALE

During longer breaks, be sure to take advantage of the sites and the great food venues downtown has to offer! Grab a great cup of coffee at Ilcaffe on Broadway, Verve Coffee Roasters, Tilt Coffee (a nice stroll up a few blocks) Black Top Coffee, or Cafe Gratitude (for all the vegans and Gluten Free-ers).
Then plan for a cute rooftop bite at the Ace Hotel, or swing by the new Chick-fila-a on Figueroa St.!
Or if you’re feeling a bit more culturally dynamic, the Taco Truck across the street is notorious for a their authentic street tacos, or stop by Spread Mediterranean for an Eastern vibe. Then you and your girls can walk to the Last Bookstore for a cool vintage book find, or grab an Uber to the Arts District for an Ice Cream Treat at Salt & Straw.

…And if  you and your girls are feeling like being a bit upscale, be sure to mosey on down to Bottega Louie for all your fav Italian Eats and an Insta-worthy box of macaroons! Embrace the occasion, and be sure to take lots of pics for the Colour memories!

4. CAMERA

Speaking of taking pics, be sure to clear your camera on your smart phone or bring a fresh roll of film for your pocket Polaroid! There will be PLENTY of picture-taking, memory-making moments, and you don’t want to miss out! Keep the moments fresh and come camera-ready!

5. WARDROBE

With all the walking you might be inclined to do, it might be best to come prepared with some cute but COMFY shoes! Ya just never know. Also! Pro-tip: the Orpheum can get a bit cold when they crank the AC! So if you were thinking to bring a trendy sweater or jacket, it might just come in handy!

6. NOTEBOOK

Trust us. You’ll want this. If you’re usually a smart-phone note taker, we get it. But there’s going to be a LOT of content that you might want to jot down with your favorite pen & leather journal to keep! However you want to do it, be sure to come prepared for an overload of empowering, Spirit-breathed notes.

7. EXPECTANCY

GIRLS.
Come ready.
The BIGGEST THING you can bring is your faith.
You just never know what God can do when you bring Him your faith – heart brimming with expectation and readiness for Him to move.
Spend some time with Him in the lead-up to the weekend. Ask Him to stir your heart and breathe life to your spirit – that you’d be in a place to hear whatever He has to say in this season!

We’re praying for you, that this would be a week of soul-water and refreshing, break-throughs and the miraculous, and we can’t wait to hear all the amazing stories that come from Colour Conference 2018!
