Juliet was struggling to provide for herself and her four children on her own and living with HIV. With income as little as $1.35 per day, Juliet faced barriers to her family being able to access medical care, education, and adequate housing and food.

When Juliet connected with Watoto, she was able to access medical treatment, food relief and housing support. She also began classes to explore her faith and to gain skills for income generation.

“This began a new chapter in my life,” Juliet says. “Using the skills I learned, I began a business out of my new home. As I gained experience, my income began to increase and my business expanded. I am now able to provide for myself and my children.”

The Colour Sisterhood partners with Watoto’s Neighbourhood program to embrace and empower women to overcome barriers to them providing for their families and enabling their children to access education – brining change to individuals, families and communities.
