JESUS WAS FOUND IN THE TEMPLE
Luke 19: 46 “My house will be a house of prayer.”
After entering Jerusalem, Jesus taught in the temple every day and drove people out when the money-changers made his house about something other than prayer. Jesus then stated that His house (The Church) will be a house of prayer! Jesus said this because prayer is an act of worship that glorifies God and reinforces our need for Him. We read in Isaiah 56:7: “For My House will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.” Jesus himself was a house of prayer, and so Jesus is teaching and modeling to us that we too are His house of prayer as we draw close to God and draw strength from God. Church is not confined to a building but we are THE CHURCH. Just as Jesus prayed for and interceded for all of humanity that week leading up to his arrest and death, even more so for us to pray for others.
So today, let’s think of people in our world that we can pray for!
ACTION: Just as Jesus prayed, how can you pray for your neighbour?
