Tuesday 7th April

The Pharisees sent spies to follow Jesus and were hoping for Jesus to say something that would give them the right to arrest him and hand him over to the authorities. The Pharisees were so blinded to His authority because they were so focussed on the “law”. Jesus then proceeds with the parable about the fig tree in Luke 21:29 teaching them a lesson to have faith and recognize the power of forgiveness, but also pointing to the Kingdom of heaven that was coming. How scary that a people (the Pharisees) can miss who Jesus is because they were so focused on the law, rather than the sacrifice of love (Jesus himself). Jesus (even though constantly attacked by the Pharisees), forgave them the day he died for them.

SCRIPTURE: Mark 11:22-26 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not count in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Today, we want to ask Jesus to forgive us for any wrongs but we also want to take this opportunity to forgive others who may have wronged us.

ACTION: How can you practice forgiveness and faith today?
