Lately my eyes and attention have been drawn to different structures, buildings, monuments, installations, spaces, and arches.

What’s the first image, memory, or place that resonates with you when you think of an arch? It could be an arch in a church at a wedding, maybe one somewhere in the countryside or even a monumental arch in an ancient city.

An arch is described as a “curved symmetrical structure spanning an opening and typically supporting the weight of a bridge, roof, or wall above it, forming a monument or ornamental feature.”

As much as I love arches, I want to draw your attention to what an arch creates and opens up: an Arch WAY, which is “a curved structure forming a passage or entrance.”

We as creatives are finding ourselves in an interesting season within the world. It is as if we are on one side of an arch, waiting to pass through. We know there’s something on the other side, but we don’t know what it is or what it will look like. You might have had a thought of how this would impact your sphere of life.

In Song of Songs 4:8 (TPT) God puts this invitation out to us: “Come with Me through the archway of trust.”

The word trust here means “the crest of Amana.” This is also one of the Hebrew words for “faith.” The crest of Amana is the realm where all God’s promises are kept and realized- a place of settled security.

God is calling us to follow Him, to trust Him and His promises for our lives, to proceed through this archway with Him, ultimately entering into all that He has for you and I. We need to leave the comfort of our old ways of doing and thinking on this side of the arch.

God has a new plan for you and He is ready to reveal it to you.

So what are you trusting God for?

Proverbs 3: 5-6 (AMP) says: “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

Matthew 11: 29-30 (TPT) says: “Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

Colossians 3: 2 (MSG) says: “Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.”

My prayer for you personally and as a Creative team is that we will all accept God’s invitation. That we will surrender all to Him, pursue Him, look up to Him, join Him, and trust Him.

May we allow His blessed Spirit to lead us through our own Archway into a beautiful cleared and level pastureland.

“Let the dawning day bring me revelation of your tender, unfailing love. Give me a light for my path and teach me, for I trust in you. Save me from all my enemies, for I hide myself in you. I just want to obey all you ask of me. So teach me, Lord, for you are my God. Your gracious Spirit is all I need, so lead me on good paths that are pleasing to you, my one and only God!” – Psalm 143: 8-10 (TPT)
