Floods Update: Rebuilding Queensland

Jan 23 2011

Every week, hundreds of faithful volunteers hit various Streets in Sydney and Brisbane visiting residents across our city.

Often, in some of the more marginalised suburbs, we see people facing challenges ranging from loneliness and isolation, to crime and vandalism.

Each week, Street Teams help people by offering practical support such as gardening, cleaning and maintenance; building a bridge with the residents, allowing us to support and empower them to make the next step forward in their life.

We link with other CityCare initiatives to help some of the physical and social issues people face, such as drug and alcohol dependency, unemployment, relationships, family issues and often provide emergency assistance through our Foodbank.

Street Teams are all about consistancy and relationship…practically assisting our community by providing a helping hand.
