Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

These words might be familiar to you, an old Sunday school staple. However, living them out can be much more challenging. We need a realignment of perspective in order to see that we must trust God above all else.

“Know You Will” exhorts you to trust God even in the darkest seasons.

When the road runs dead
You can see a way I don’t
And it makes no sense
But You say that’s what faith is for

This type of faith releases the need for understanding.  While sometimes our faith might feel secure and understandable, there will inevitably be situations that look hopeless or impossible.

In the Bible, we see the Israelites face these types of impossible situations. Time and time again, God rescued them or redeemed what was seemingly lost. The bridge of this song references the story in Exodus where God delivered the Israelites from their physical chains in Egypt  Likewise, we as modern-day believers, may experience mental and emotional anguish or captivity in our lives. However, just as the Israelites were able to look back on all the ways God came through for them…in Egypt, in Jericho, or at the Red Sea, …we should also remember how God has been faithful to us. We might not be able to see how or when He will make a way, but we know He will.
