What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Catrina Henderson and I am from Sydney, Australia but grew up in Wollongong.
What is your favourite flower?
I love Jasmine.
What do you do to relax?
I go for a run or I read.
Do you have a ‘life’ Bible verse?
Yes, I have a few, but this one has been a lifeline for me at the best and worst of times: “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
What is it about the Sisterhood/COLOUR message or experience that resonates the most within you personally? Was there one moment in particular that sparked it all for you?
I think what resonates the most with me personally is the empowering message to be all God has created you to be, and to not do it alone.
I think each new layer to the Sisterhood has empowered me for each new season.
What is your job title?
Principal of Hillsong College
What do you love about what you do?
Everything! Empowering exceptional men and women (students and staff) to live out their part in His story.
What are some of the challenges you find in what you do?
Sometimes I just don’t feel “qualified” enough. The weight of the responsibility of teaching the Word is also something I don’t take lightly.
How do you see yourself “on mission” in your field?
I get to raise, equip and empower generations of church leaders and builders. I believe a healthy Church is how we’re going to establish God’s Kingdom on the earth – which is the mission.
And lastly for fun, what is your ‘favourite’ and your ‘least loved’ chore?
I really don’t like doing the groceries but I love washing up!
