Our Backyard | Copenhagen

We are committed to being actively involved in our communities – believing that God has strategically planted us in our cities and neighbourhoods for such a time as this. Our heart is to see community transformation through strengthening families, empowering young people and fostering a sense of belonging for vulnerable groups in need of connection.

Last year we announced that through the Hillsong Foundation we would be launching Hillsong CityCare, which is now starting to find its feet. CityCare engages our local community through its ongoing programs and services, which include: honouring the generations that have gone before us through conversation, fun games and activities at nursing homes, doing fellowship in Copenhagen with refugees from the Middle East, and personal development programmes for women, giving them useful tools to help them flourish in their spheres of life.

CityCare facilitates Hillsong’s annual community projects as well. In Copenhagen we facilitate project such as Easter care packs for the homeless in our city, Christmas dinners for the vulnerable and lonely, the Winter Clothing Collection, and Angel Tree.

In 2017 CityCare will continue to add programs and street teams to match the needs of the city with the resources of our church community. What an incredible honour it is to serve our communities and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Because we care and because we can.
