About Shelby

Music
Shelby began her singing career in church and school functions, but began training in 2005 under Heather Lease and Amy Giglio. She appeared in musicals such as “Into The Woods”, “Les Miserables”, “Guys & Dolls” and “7 Brides for 7 Brothers”. She was casted with the Rubicon Theatre Company in 2008 as a vocalist and performed as Jennifer in “Babes in Arms” singing the Iconic solo “Where or When” under the instruction of Brian McDonald. In 2013 Shelby came to Hillsong International Leadership College and began her studies in the vocal stream, graduating in 2013 with a Certificate IV in Vocals.

Dance
Shelby began her training in competitive gymnastics at the age of 5 and transitioned to dance at the age of 12 through the Ventura Ballet Academy. While studying she received instruction in Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Modern and Hip Hop.

At 17 Shelby graduated school at was accepted into the California Institute of the Arts for dancing and spent a year training under Stephan Koplowitz and Andre Tyson in the styles of Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, African Dance, Modern, Ballroom & Latin.

In 2010 Shelby travelled to Europe for a 6 month tour with “Heart Bridge” Performing Arts Company whose vision was to use dance and music to reach the lost. Shortly after she returned, Shelby began to train for a professional career in Ballroom & Latin dancing. Shelby competed from 2011-2013 through Arthur Murray Dance Studios.
