Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you New Zealand

16 March 2019

Bobbie and I were both born in New Zealand and lived there until we were in our 20’s, so we are incredibly saddened to hear of the unfathomable evil inflicted on Christchurch yesterday. The freedom to worship is never to be taken for granted, and we empathise as this freedom has been challenged by such tragedy. We can’t begin to imagine the sheer devastation the families and loved-ones of the 49 deceased and many injured must be experiencing, the sorrow the people of New Zealand must feel and the confusion the Muslim community must be facing at this time.

There are currently thousands of women gathered for our annual Colour Conference in Sydney, and last night Bobbie rallied all in attendance to uphold and pray for those affected…

We will continue to pray for you and all of New Zealand. May the Prince of Peace be your refuge in the wake of great darkness. As the fabric of your nation might be altered by this atrocity, may the Holy Spirit be with you and guide you to lead with wisdom. May you be strengthened by the love of the Father and may you extend His great love to your nation in a time when it is most needed.

Psalm 91 shares around the security of the one who trusts in the Lord – it was true at the time it was penned and it remains true today…

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
For He will save you from the trap of the fowler,
And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions,
And under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.” (v. 1-4 AMP)

With heartfelt thoughts and prayers,

Brian
