Mariano got to the point that felt like rock bottom in life. One day while out for a run, he had an encounter that prompted him to think about the reality of God. It impacted him but he was afraid of what might happen if he opened up, and about the things he’d have to leave behind if a change was going to happen.
A friend invited Mariano to church – it was the launch of Hillsong Buenos Aires. Mariano gave his life to Jesus that night. He saw changes right away, decided to get baptised, and has since been on a journey of trusting God.
Mariano serves on the ‘Connections Team’ at church and for him, church is not about the service, but the family that they are.
Mariano sees how in his own life, in his sphere of influence, he connects with people and can impact others because of the work Jesus has done in his life and the real change that has taken place.
As a church, we are passionate about seeing people empowered to lead and impact in every sphere of life. People like Mariano, who through a healthy local church found a relationship with Jesus, a welcoming community, an avenue to serve others, and inspiration to influence others.

Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. Matt 5:14-16 (The Message)
