What is Hillsong Leadership Academy?
The Hillsong Leadership Academy (HLA) is a one-year discipleship and leadership program designed to equip you spiritually, practically, and personally for the work of ministry. Through a mix of theological teaching, leadership development, and hands-on ministry experience, you will grow in your calling and leadership capacity.

What you can expect
You will receive hands-on training while serving your local church community. The Hillsong Leadership Academy offers a faith-based learning environment that combines biblical teaching, practical ministry experience, and leadership development. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Hillsong Leadership Academy certificate.

The price for the one-year program is €500.
However, for this first year of the Hillsong Leadership Academy we are offering a special launch discount of 50%, which means the price will be €250.

All weekly Thursday evening sessions (approx. 18:30–21:30) take place at the Hillsong Netherlands Church Office in Amsterdam Kerkstraat 44 III, Amsterdam). Ministry practicum takes place on Sunday at your assigned local Hillsong campus.
No. The HLA is intentionally designed as an in-person experience, where teaching, discussion, and community happen together in the classroom.
Unfortunately, no. Thursday evening teaching sessions are a core part of the HLA and require full attendance. If you are part of the worship team, we encourage you to speak with your team leader. The HLA can’t be combined with other regular Thursday evening commitments.
The practicum is the hands-on ministry placement where participants serve in local church teams to apply what they are learning. It’s designed to develop leadership, teamwork, and spiritual maturity.
The curriculum includes leadership development, teamwork, spirit-filled living, Christian doctrine, an introduction to the Bible, discipleship, and a study of Ephesians. Additional practical ministry topics will be added throughout the year.
Each week, participants are expected to attend the Thursday evening teaching and group sessions, serve in their ministry practicum on Sunday, and actively engage in study groups and regular mentor check-ins. In addition, you may also be expected to attend occasional team/leadership nights, typically held once a month on a Tuesday.
No. The HLA is a one-year program with a carefully designed sequence. Each term builds on the previous one, so full participation for the entire year is required.
Graduates receive a Hillsong Leadership Academy certificate.
We understand that sometimes life happens. To be eligible for the HLA certificate at the end of the program, you may miss up to two Thursdays and two Sundays per term.
The final day to apply for the HLA is Sunday, 31 August 2025.
