Jon Cook has been an engineer, a water-ski coach, a child protection social worker, a charity manager but all of those were just training grounds for being a church planter and pastor. In 2005 Jon and his family moved from Hillsong London to plant an independent church in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. They started with 9 people in Starbucks and went on a journey for 11 years but staying strongly connected to Hillsong. Then in 2016 Newcastle Christian Life Centre became Hillsong Newcastle. Jon’s focus has always been about building people and seeing more in them than they do in themselves. His personal mission is –
“To be fanatically enthusiastic about the misfit, transforming them into heroes and then building heroes into a community.”
