Foster Care & Adoption

On a given day there are 400,000 children in foster care in the United States. Over 13,400 children are in foster care in the state of Arizona. We are committed to finding safe and loving homes for every child in need.

Arizona 1.27 is a collaboration of churches taking the lead to end the foster care crisis in Arizona. To learn more about fostering, supporting foster families, or mentoring attend one of the orientations. Orientations will give a better understand of a child who is coming from a hard place and provide a better understand of what a foster or adoptive family will go through. We believe this first step of orientation is intended for everyone who wants to discover their role in caring for children in foster care.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Data Management Teams
  • Training Teams

Grace House is Hillsong Phoenix’s onsite center for foster care initiatives and is used to help children and their families get to a better place. All of Hillsong Phoenix’s foster care programs take place at Grace House.

Anti-Slavery

iHelp Women’s Shelter Every week Hillsong houses women in our temporary shelter program on our Mesa Campus. Each campus’ supports the ministry with teams who host the women, wash the linens, and make snacks and lunches for the women.

A21 Walk for Freedom: A21 Human Trafficking Awareness teams work to bring an end to human trafficking and increasing awareness through our partnership with the A21 Campaign. Hillsong Phoenix partners with A21 annually for the global Walk for Freedom. Stay tuned for details on this year’s Walk.

Anti-Poverty

Project Christmas Outreach consists of various events throughout the holiday season aimed at providing children and their families with gifts and Christmas Events. Planning begins each year in the fall and there are over 500 volunteer opportunities.

  • Refugee Christmas Party: Help bring a very special Christmas experience to over 800 refugee children and their parents. Planning and execution teams assemble in the fall, and the event occurs each December.
  • Gift Collection and Distribution: Volunteer to collect and or distribute gifts for children in foster care, children in our community, and the children of incarcerated parents (Angel Tree).

HopeFest Community Goods and Services Spring Event is Arizona’s largest same-day charitable direct-services outreach. HopeFest brings the community together to provide 20,000 socially and economically struggling adults and children FREE medical, dental, vision, food, housing, haircuts, clothing, personal care products, employment services, child safety needs, and life changing connections to agencies that provide long-term solutions, independence and stability. Volunteer opportunities available each Spring.

Anti-Hunger

Brown Bag Food Campaign is each summer between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and provides over 15,000 pounds of food to restock community food banks. Each family is asked to fill a grocery bag with non-perishable food and return it by Father’s Day.

Click here for a list of food items you can donate throughout the year through your specific campus food drive opportunities.

Community Kitchen’s Serving Opportunities are available year-round at local food kitchens around the Valley such as Paz de Cristo, Phoenix Rescue Mission, Feed My Starving Children, and St. Vincent’s de Paul. Volunteers prepare and serve and evening meal to the homeless.
