FAQs:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat is a House Party?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nA House Party is a small, in-person gathering of family & friends coming together in a way that enables us to be the Church within community rather than watching church on our own.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhere do House Parties meet?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\nParties will be hosted in\u00a0<\/span>NY, NJ, CT, and MA<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>homes or apartments, backyards, or in any other approved community space with reliable\u00a0<\/span>WiFi<\/span>\u00a0that makes it possible for people to engage in a safe way.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
When are House Parties happening?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\nHouse Parties are hosted on Sundays, weekly or bi-weekly.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWho hosts a House Party?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\nA host is someone\u00a0<\/span>who<\/span>\u00a0caught the heart of House Parties\u00a0<\/span>&<\/span>\u00a0feels a sense of purpose\u00a0<\/span>&<\/span>\u00a0call to that mission; to watch church together within their living space.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>They host because they\u2019re passionate about the message of Jesus, connecting within community, & building the local church<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0by building people’s lives.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is<\/span><\/b>\u00a0the criteria to host?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n- A passion for Jesus & a love for God’s Word<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- A commitment to Hillsong East Coast as your home church<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- A commitment to Christian character & personal integrity (<\/span>ie<\/span>. Teams Code of Conduct)\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Prior leadership experience, preferred (<\/span>ie<\/span>. Internship, team lead, Connect Group leader)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Connect Group active (for a minimum of one semester)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n- High level of relationship with\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>taff & local team\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ongoing feedback, oversight & accountability to HSEC staff<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ability to host within one of the four states we currently “occupy” (NYC,\u00a0<\/span>MA<\/span>, CT, or NJ)\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat does a House Party Host do?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Builds a “Welcome Home” environment for others\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Invites friends, family, & neighbors to join them on Sundays<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Streams the Sunday message for everyone to watch together<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Facilitates group discussion\u00a0<\/span>&<\/span>\u00a0prayer after watching service<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Collaborates with pastoral staff on best practices, safety guidelines, & care strategies<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n- Reports weekly for their gathering\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
- Participates in continued training & leadership development with our HSEC pastoral staff\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHow you become a Host?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n1. Complete a House Party Host Application.
\n2. Have an honest conversation during your interview with a HSEC pastor<\/span>
\n3. Attend a House Party Leader Training\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n*All House Party hosts must complete the HSEC application process and receive Campus Pastor approval for their meeting space due to COVID-19 guidelines. If confirmed, you\u2019ll be connected with additional leader resources & have regular contact points with our pastoral staff.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nIs there a deadline for applications?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhile there is not a deadline for applications, we will use discretion on the number of House Parties we can adequately & excellently support in this season of church life within each state.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat is the initial time commitment for House Parties?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHouse Parties run for nearly 2 hours from start to finish (to include prep<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>full service<\/span>\u00a0experience & after party\u00a0<\/span>clean-up).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\nIf House Parties aren\u2019t for me, what are my options?\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\nConnect Groups will always remain a midweek priority for community to be built in relationship with Jesus & with others. Connection, care, & the growth of our people is the goal within Connect Groups. Check out\u00a0<\/span>MyHillsong<\/span>.com today to join one of the many online groups meeting across the East Coast.<\/span><\/p>\nIf I already lead a Connect Group, should I apply to host a House Party?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAlthough we are a leadership church, there is never any pressure.\u00a0 Connect Groups are not in competition with House Parties. They are meant to complement one another & are different in format & function.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWe want this opportunity to be the best decision for you & for your family. If you\u2019ve been hosting a CG midweek & would like to continue meeting,\u00a0<\/span>Connect Groups will always remain a midweek priority for community<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHouse Parties are simply another opportunity for our church community to be built in what is our first phase of re-opening, in-person.\u00a0<\/span>Sunday Services will always be our Sunday priority.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nIf you choose to be creative with your leadership, you can certainly lead both a CG midweek & a House Party on Sunday. Please speak with your campus pastor & local team about the best option for you. Keep it fun!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nFor example, host CG online twice a month & host a House Party in your home twice a month.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhy do I need to apply to host a gathering in my living space?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWe want to partner with you in the building of this local church & the lives of the people who call HSEC their home.\u00a0 We also want to provide the necessary safeguards for these unprecedented times so that the quality of our gatherings\u00a0<\/span>are<\/span>\u00a0not compromised. Relationships within this family are so important to us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat are the requirements for the space offered for a House Party?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nOur team will be mindful of the recommendations & metrics for gatherings, as hosts apply & as gatherings are monitored through phases of re-opening.\u00a0 We also recommend allocating a bathroom specifically to guests for easy access, minimizing foot traffic, & for frequent handwashing.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat considerations are being given to the health & wellbeing of our church?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nHealth & well-being is a High Priority. W<\/span>e respectfully ask all House Party hosts & attendees to comply with local, state & federal guidelines. We ask all guests to RSVP before attending a party. All parties will have safety guidelines visible as a sign of our preparation & commitment to protocol.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAre face coverings required at House Parties?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nIn order to comply with local, state & federal guidelines, we respectfully ask all House Party attendees to wear face coverings when maintaining 6 feet of social distance is not possible, unless unsafe for an individual or if individuals from different homes have quarantined together.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Will temperatures be taken as guests arrive at House Parties? <\/strong><\/p>\nYes. We are providing leaders with guidance to ensure the safety & confidentiality of people is high & maintained consistently.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWhat is the plan for House Parties if COVID restrictions intensify, pause, or reverse?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nWe absolutely defer to local, state, & federal guidelines for hosting & attending gatherings.
