A few months ago, I received an email highlighting some different challenges we were facing as a church. In response I wrote, “I just want you to know I have faith for this”. A day later, I received another similar email, and I responded again, “I just want you to know I have faith for this”. I find myself saying in all circumstances and situations, “I have faith for this!”
Do you know that in the midst of things we don’t understand, in the midst of darkness or disappointment, or in the midst of personal challenge when you don’t know what to do, we can say to each other, “Yes, but I have faith for this!” I believe as a church, this must become our heart stance as we enter 2024 because the reality is, “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6). This is not a time to draw back or be passive.
I encourage you to remember that because of all Jesus has done, you can choose faith in the face of any mountain. I believe where there’s faith, something miraculous, incredible can happen. We must be able to look beyond things as they are and see what they will be.
If we can adopt this saying in our hearts, not as a gimmick but with absolute conviction, I believe something amazing lies ahead for you. Your family, our city, our nation. And let’s go beyond, for God always responds to a heart of faith.
Prayer:
Heavenly God, as I look forward into this new year, help me have a heart that says, “I have faith for this”. Help me to have faith that through the inevitable ups and downs of the weeks and months to come, I can trust that you are bigger than what I can see in the natural. I commit myself now to a year of faith and expectation. I pray now for those I know who are facing challenging situations; help me to “have faith for this” in what they are facing.
