What is HLA?
Hillsong Leadership Academy is a part-time program, existing to equip and release future church leaders, seeing them becoming all that God has called them to be. The vision is simple, “a healthy church changing lives through Christ”.
The programme runs from August to June, and it consists of a dynamic four-fold structure. Through our teaching, you’ll receive leadership training and in-depth theological education tailored towards spiritual formation and apologetics. Our practicum offers hands-on experience in real ministry settings, while our serving component engages you with a local church on Sunday as each student is assigned to a department stream (e.g., Worship, Production, Kids, Creative, etc.), serving practically while gaining diverse exposure across the life of the church. Finally, our workshops are designed to help you develop and grow through the discussion of experiences and theory.
SEMESTERS:
1st Semester: August 5th to December 13th
2nd Semester: February 10th to June 14th

Department Streams
We have various departments for you to be a part of in The Hillsong Leadership Academy.
— This area involves pastoral care, Connect Groups, Sunday Service Teams, and more.
— This team handles the behind-the-scenes operations of Sundays, coordinating teams to create excellent services and a great experience for all.
— Young Adults (18-25):
This department reaches young adults in their life season, equipping them to impact every sphere of life through the Gospel.
— Youth:
This department invests in high school students, building a strong youth ministry through Youth Nights and vibrant Sunday services.
— Kids:
This department builds and equips our children’s ministry, investing in kids, parents, and families.
— Worship:
This team leads the church in faith-filled worship.
— Communications:
This team handles all church media and communication.
— Creative Technologies:
This team supports church services through lighting, sound, TV, and stage management.
— Creative Design:
This team creates the “look and feel” of church through stage designs, decor, and visual elements.
