“DAY 7
Contending for those we love

“In the same way you received Jesus our Lord and Messiah by faith, continue your journey of faith, progressing further into your union with Him! Your spiritual roots go deeply into His life as you are continually infused with strength, encouraged in every way. For you are established in the faith you have absorbed and enriched by your devotion to Him!”
Colossians 2:6-7 (TPT)

“As you take time alone in the presence of God to pause and reflect, remember to keep an open heart to His voice and instruction. He will disciple you if you choose to submit to His careful hand and guiding light. Time in His presence should always change you in a way that causes you to emerge better for the experience.

For centuries, the Church of Jesus Christ has been crying out to heaven for revival – true and lasting revival on a corporate level as well as personally. In your time aside in the presence of God, it is my hope that you will emerge ready, present and accounted for in these days in which we live.

“Don’t allow the confinement or limitations of your circumstances to represent nothing but an inconvenience, but rather, allow the heart of the living God to actually beat within yours. Our beautiful, relentless Father in heaven will contend within your heart for a world that is desperately seeking light.

All those centuries ago, Paul was in prison contending for you today. Here is how he prayed for you –
“So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11 (MSG)

I thank God for the labour of the Apostle Paul, our forerunner who went ahead to bring us His truth, contending for us that we too would contend for the people in our lives we care about. I encourage and exhort you to be ready and present for every opportunity. Allow Paul’s prayer to resonate within you – embrace it with all your heart; constantly transforming you into Christ Jesus’ image. As you do, I pray that, like Paul, you will contend for those you love and those you have yet to meet.
