Our Heart for the House offering is an annual, sacrificial offering that is over and above our tithes and offerings.

Every year, this single weekend marks a significant and miraculous step forward in the life of our church. By intentionally preparing and selflessly giving, our church is able to extend our reach and expand our influence to impact individuals, communities, and parts of the world that are often overlooked.

Our heart is for freedom. Our heart is for people.

Our offices at 363 Lafayette have become the hub of East Coast during this year. 363 Layette has space for a studio for filming our weekend services and a base for food distribution.

Meal Boxes Prepped: 600

Financial need met: $47,538.79

OUR CITY

Our non-profit partners have been severely impacted by COVID-19 this past year, yet our church has been there to support and invest in their work. We supported these partners through finance and volunteers to meet the needs of the community.

NYC: Father’s Heart

Working to end hunger and food insecurity in New York City. Additionally, they have services focused around gang prevention, teen job training, GED + ESL classes and are committed to empowering individuals and families at becoming self-sufficient. We support their soup kitchen and pantry which serves 5,700 individuals per month.

BOSTON: ABCD Boston

Action for Boston Community Development.

Their mission is to empower disadvantaged people by providing the tools to overcome poverty, live with dignity, and achieve their full potential. Prepared 996,310 meals for children in Head Start, provided 4,059 families with food pantry services, distributing 653,691 pounds of food, and helped 96 households obtain SNAP benefits.

NEW JERSEY: Toni’s Kitchen

A food ministry where their mission is to provide community access to reliable healthy meals. Toni’s Kitchen provides food to our neighbors in need in ways that respect their dignity, improve health, and foster independence. Serving 20,000 meals per week.

CONNECTICUT: Bridgeport Rescue Mission

Provides vital services to men, women, and children facing hunger, homelessness, and addiction. Offering help to heal and return the community to wholeness. 565,000 meals served annually in Connecticut

PRISON REFORM

Our commitment to fight for those who are incarcerated has continued through our support of Prison Fellowship programs like the Floodlight project, and Justice Ambassador program. This year we hosted a Freedom Run to raise awareness and resources to change laws around unjust sentencing. Our partnership has been critical to reaching people who are incarcerated and the communities that support them during this season. We value their holistic approach to serving those impacted by mass incarceration.

As a church we are committed to Angel Tree, a program that provides Christmas gifts for children of incarcerated parents. You can come alongside a family this Christmas season through our giving portal.

Angel Tree Camping

More than 6,000 children with an incarcerated parent attended a Christina camp on an Angel Tree Scholarship.

Angel Tree Network

292,598 children were assigned to be served in December 2018 and 20,850 families received a Bible through Angel Tree.

The Academy

3000+ prisoners participated in 90 Academy sites in 28 states; including a program at Riker’s Island where the Hillsong NYC team has been volunteering for 2 years

Hope Events

21,483 prisoners attended Hope Events through Prison Fellowship. 4,764 prisoners made decisions to follow Christ

Women’s Ministry

6,634 women attended 65 Hope Events, and 1,869 made decisions to entrust their lives to Christ

First Step Act Passed

Participation in in-prison educational programs, like those expanded by the FIRST STEP Act, reduces a person’s risk of returning to prison by 48%. This Bi-partisan bill was passed in 2018.

MENTAL HEALTH

In this season, our church has had to rise to the need of many who are facing mental health crises. We’ve been able to refer hundreds of individuals to receive mental health care.

We kicked off an initiative called “Sow Well” to provide holistic mental health solutions to all people. We’ve launched virtual support groups, well courses, and a content library of resources; during this time, we’ve also delivered weekly content through a series called “Wellness Wednesday,” where we speak to the challenges people face during this pandemic.

Wellness Wednesdays

Over 22 episodes with mental health and wellness professions on various health, wellness, parenting, and relational topics.

Well Groups

Two semesters of wellness groups; which are virtual support groups around a specific topic.

Website + Content Library

The launch of Sow Well’s website with a hub of videos and worksheets for individuals seeking mental health guidance.

GLOBAL IMPACT

As a global church, we continue to join the efforts of our global non-profit partners.

A21

ABOLISH SLAVERY EVERYWHERE, FOREVER. Across the globe, 165 countries have shut schools due to COVID-19. This has impacted more than 1.5 billion children, many of who are now required to learn remotely from home — with increasing time online, leaving them potentially vulnerable to online abuse. In addition, higher unemployment leads to increased vulnerability for people looking for new opportunities. Many will take great risks to acquire new employment, setting themselves up as soft targets for traffickers to exploit.

Hillsong Africa Foundation

BUILDING LIVES THAT BUILD A NATION. In this season of global pandemic, vulnerability and inequality increases exponentially, which has dire consequences for communities already struggling to get by. With no disposable income or margin, meagre resources are stretched thin. High rates of unemployment cause more damage in informal communities, leading to harder recovery. Hillsong Africa Foundation is uniquely positioned to help communities emerge well from this crisis. Our continued partnership enables them to provide job skills, personal development courses and child care programs that will enable young people, adults and families to get back on their feet.

Preemptive Love

FEAR LEADS TO VIOLENCE. VIOLENCE LEADS TO WAR. PREEMPTIVE LOVE UNMAKES VIOLENCE. The team responds fast with relief on the frontlines of conflict: food to help families survive, shelter to remake home, and medicine to mend the wounds of war. Create jobs—providing capital for vulnerable families to start businesses, coaching to help their businesses thrive, and connection to global marketplace. Reaching across enemy lines and creating the most diverse community of peacemakers on the planet, to stop the next war before it starts.

BUT IF SERVING THE LORD SEEMS UNDESIRABLE TO YOU, THEN CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE, WHETHER THE GODS YOUR ANCESTORS SERVED BEYOND THE EUPHRATES, OR THE GODS OF THE AMORITES, IN WHOSE LAND YOU ARE LIVING. BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.

-- Joshua 24:15
