Our first Sisterhood One Day in 2024, we came together around Maternity Bags.
Hospitals throughout the Northern Territory have teams of midwives supporting women through some of the most complex pregnancies and births. Many of these women travel from remote communities and often arrive at the hospital with very few personal belongings. Some don’t even have basic items such as underwear to hold a sanitary pad after birth, shampoo or conditioner, or a toothbrush and toothpaste.
It can be difficult to imagine that women in Australia experience situations like this, yet these are the women the midwives care for every day. A big bag full of items for them and their newborn baby means so much to these women. It restores dignity and brings hope.
In 2024, this generous Sisterhood contributed to providing these maternity bags. Because of your generosity, we were able to purchase items for 400 maternity bags, which have now been delivered to hospitals in:
The impact of a single bag on a woman who has just given birth is remarkable. This small act of generosity makes a real and tangible difference.
Each bag contains essential items for mum and baby including a packet of newborn nappies, baby wipes, sudocream, onsies, baby singlets, muslin wrap… and for mum – underwear, thongs, a t-shirt, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant.
Sisterhood, we have the opportunity today to be a part of something deeply practical and deeply powerful! This is what it looks like to live out Micah 6:8 to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

As a Sisterhood, we are Girls on Mission together and give to an incredible initiative like the Maternity Bags. But we can be Girls on Mission in our everyday lives.
