Healthy Families and Safe, Inclusive Communities
CityCare exists to partner with our local communities to address poverty and its causes, through programs and partnerships that empower the next generation. We aim to foster healthy families and create safe and inclusive communities, for the peace and wellbeing of the city and to empower people to lead and impact in every sphere of life.
Our community engagement programs are run in partnership with local organisations and services and include a range of key activities for Youth, Children & Families and Women.
We’re all about backing young people to step confidently into a future they have the power to shape. Our goal is to see resilient young people who are empowered to pursue their potential. In partnership with schools and organisations, we facilitate a range of experiences at no cost for young people from tough places who have less access to opportunities.
SHINEGIRL. is about equipping girls with the knowledge and skills to discover who they are and the person they want to become. This program challenges participants to find the strength and courage within them to accept and love who they are, to make healthy choices and live to their full potential.
The STRENGTH program is about equipping adolescent men with the knowledge and skills to discover who they are and the person they want to become
In partnership with COACH Network, young people are matched with a mentor to meet weekly over a 12-month period, working towards the achievement of a significant goal and to increase personal wellbeing.
From a sports comp to a breakfast program, Safe Spaces give young people consistent access to spaces in which they feel safe and can connect to their peers and supportive adult role models.
Children & Families
Children need families. Families need communities. Our goal is to see children thriving within resilient families and safe, inclusive communities which embrace vulnerable children and their parents or carers.
Parents and caregivers meet on a weekly basis during school terms with their babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. Playgroup offers children a wide variety of play-based learning experiences, an opportunity to interact and play with other children of similar age, and carers and parents an opportunity to meet with others and share ideas and experiences.

Our Village Project
Our Village Project exists to encourage more people to consider opening their homes to a child who needs one, and to ensure those who do are well supported. This includes Info Sessions, Foster Care: First Steps content, Wrap-around Teams, and Trauma-informed Training.
Through the SHINE Women nine-week group curriculum, each participant develops an understanding of her own personal worth, strength and purpose and realises her capacity to build a meaningful and contributing life.
There are a variety of ways for you to get involved with CityCare, whether you’re able to give your time, skills or resources.
