The goal of CityCare campaigns is to help restore hope and dignity to vulnerable individuals and families in our communities by providing food relief through our church and community parters. This is achieved by facilitating the provision of in-kind contributions in response to the need in our church and wider communities during various times of year, and in response to crisis situations.
These campaigns also extend beyond the physical items that are provided and is about the sense of community and connections it creates between CityCare and our partners. It helps us strengthen existing partner relationships as well as lay the foundations for new ones.
Kilo of Kindness
Hunger is a largely hidden social problem in Australia and many suffer in silence. After paying rent, bills and transport costs many parents find it hard to place food on their tables. Children will often go to school without breakfast, or to bed without any dinner. The Kilo of Kindness campaign aims to help families facing food insecurity in our communities, by providing food relief through our Community Partners and helping to stock our CityCare Emergency Food Relief Pantries.
Kilo of Christmas
Christmas can often be a difficult time for many Australians, particulartly for those who struggle with food insecurity or cannot afford gifts for their children. Kilo of Christmas is a Christmas gift to our local communities, supporting familiesy by resourcing partnets with quality unwrapped toy packs that they can wrap and give to their children on Christmas Day. Kilo of Christmas also proivdes food hampers to enable families and individuals who may otherwise go without, to celebrate around a Christmas meal.
