Holy Week Devotional

Holy Week Devotional

Experience the highs and lows, from the joyful Palm Sunday to the solemn Good Friday and the triumphant Easter Sunday. Each day offers a lesson in following Jesus, whether it's about praising Him, staying true to your beliefs, or spreading His message of love.

"When one wants to preach the Gospel, one must treat only of the resurrection of Christ. For this is the chief article of our faith...The greatest power of faith is bound up in this article of faith. For if there were no resurrection, we would have no consolation or hope, and everything else Christ did or suffered would be futile."

- Martin Luther

Believing in The Resurrection of Christ

Crucifixion

Crucifixion

Jesus’ death by crucifixion is the single fact most mentioned in all the historical records of his life, both Christian and non-Christian. It is recorded in numerous books of the New Testament, including all four Gospels, Acts, Paul’s letters, Hebrews, 1 Peter, and Revelation.

Empty tomb

Empty tomb

Possibly the best evidence for the resurrection is the empty tomb. The historical evidence shows that: the grave was empty; the grave clothes were neatly left behind; the stone enclosing the tomb was rolled away; the body of Jesus was never found; the grave had been guarded by Roman soldiers; and no one ever claimed to have stolen the body.

Eyewitnesses

Eyewitnesses

Over the few weeks after and in multiple instances, several of Jesus’ disciples encountered a person they believed to be the risen Jesus. He appeared to the disciples, a crowd of 500 people, his brother James, all of the apostles, and eventually the apostle Paul.
