FAQ

General Registration
  • What does Encounter Conference look like this year?

Encounter Conference is for all high-school aged students and led by our youth pastors & staff alongside our incredible volunteer team. It runs all-day parallel to Hillsong Conference. The days consist of sessions with amazing speakers, heaven-touching worship, exciting sessions, tribal challenges, time to hang with friends and so much more!

  • What if my teenager doesn’t know anyone?

It is our heart that every young person shares in the greatest experience possible at Encounter Conference and also has the chance to connect with other young people. We have small group leaders who help to look out for anyone who may be by themselves. If you already know that your teenager would like to join a group for Encounter Conference, you can email us at [email protected] with your young person’s school year and we can help them get connected from the outset of Encounter Conference.

  • What are tribes? What can I do if my teenager’s friend is in a different tribe?

We have three coloured tribes. Tribes are like teams that are made up of a whole lot of small groups. Each small group has a leader (who is over the age of 18). Tribes are generally decked out in their colour & chant for their team competitors throughout tribal challenges. Tribes are a way to help a big conference feel like everyone has a place – they help create ‘family’ / ‘belonging’. If a teenager is not allocated to a specific tribe already, they are welcome to choose whichever colour they wish.

Students are welcome to sit wherever they like & can choose to be with their friends during our lunch breaks, hang time & during the sessions. During Tribal Challenges we encourage students to sit in their tribal area to allow them to absorb the fullness of the experience, however there is no specific rules or regulations.

  • Does my teenager need to bring money with them?

Your child does not need money with them if you opt for a packed lunch, however we do have a few things available for purchase throughout Encounter Conference:
    – Encounter Conference Merchandise
    – Food vendors are available on site to purchase food or beverages

  • Can students leave Encounter Conference during the day?

Students over the age of 16 are allowed to leave the Encounter Conference premises during free time. Students under the age of 16 are allowed to leave the Encounter Conference premises during free time if they are accompanied by at least two leaders.

If students leave and re-enter the premise, they are asked to sign out and sign in later again. Should your teenager be required to leave for any reason throughout the day, we do request that a parent/guardian be contacted via one of our pastors or key team for approval.

  • Are there any discounts available for registration?

When registering 2 adults & 1 child (Kidsong or Encounter Conference) at full price, the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Kidsong/Encounter Conference registrations will be discounted to $59 each. Must be completed in the same transaction.

  • How can I edit the details of my registration?

In your order confirmation email, please click “Manage Attendee”, then click “Edit Info”. Please note, the cut off for changes to registrations are Sunday, June 22nd. Should you have any issues, email our team at [email protected]

  • Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Yes, in your order confirmation email, please click “Manage Attendees”, then click “Edit Info”. We recommend updating as much information as possible for the new attendee. After you have saved your information, click “View E-Ticket” to see the updated version. Please note, the cut off for changes to registrations are Sunday, June 22nd. Should you have any issues, email our team at [email protected].

  • Can I cancel my registration?

You may cancel your Registration by emailing us prior to 31 May 2026. A cancellation fee of AUD $20.00 per Registration will apply. Registrations previously transferred are not eligible for refund. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method.

  • Are there day or night tickets available?

No, we are only offering one rate for the Conference, which includes admission to all sessions at Hillsong Conference Sydney 2026. Tickets for individual days or sessions are not available.

What to bring

  • Bible
  • Notebook/Pen
  • Registration Pass – pick up available on Conference Day 1
  • Water
  • Packed Food + Snacks (if you do not wish to purchase food) or money to purchase lunch and merchandise on site.
  • We recommend where possible not to bring valuables, however any valuables brought will be the responsibility of the individual who brings them.
  • Our recommendation is that students bring a smaller, easy to carry bag that would hold the essentials that they need for the day as there is no bag room available at Encounter Conference.
