Renaud & Abbi von Wielligh

Hi there!

A warm welcome to Hillsong Century City from the von Wielligh fam – Renaud, Abbi and our two kids! We are both from Cape Town originally but met in the UK, where we each served in Hillsong London for around 10 years.

In early 2024, following the call of God, we moved back to the Mother City and now have the privilege of serving our Century City community.

With a heart to see all people encounter and walk with Jesus in a healthy, authentic and significant way, we would love to welcome you to join us and get involved! There are great days ahead, together!

Christmas Appeal

Pack the Backpack

We are honoured this year to bless Ysterplaat Junior Primary School with fun filled backpacks for 2025!
We invite our church to donate money towards the backpacks as well as join for a ‘Pack The BackPack’ afternoon.

Information about the school:
Ysterplaat Junior Primary School is a preparatory school for children from Grade R-3. The school prides themselves on having a rich history that started in 1983 and is still going strong to date. There are a total of 15 classes for Grade 1-3 as well as 4 Grade 4 classes. They are a community school and serve learners that live in Brooklyn, Ysterplaat and Rugby.

What is the socio-economic situation of this community?:
The socio-economic scenario in Rugby, Ysterplaat, and Brooklyn is characterised by a mix of economic struggle, social challenges, and efforts for improvement. The communities are rich in culture and resilience but face significant issues such as unemployment, crime, youth vulnerability, gang activity and inadequate infrastructure. There is potential for growth and development, but it requires focused efforts in education, economic opportunities, and social services to uplift these neighbourhoods and their residents.

We as a church in this local community have every opportunity to bring hope.

What are we asking our church to do?:
We are inviting our church to do the following:
1. Donate towards the backpacks
2. Be a part of the actual ‘Pack The BackPack’ Day. 3. Write a card for each child.
***Goal: 800 backpacks***

Donate:
People can either:
Donate a full amount to the back pack of R350 OR
Donate varying amounts to the items in the backpack that are broken down as follows: BackPack Only: R150 / Stationary: R100 / Sweet Box: R50 / Toy Gifts: R50

Pack The BackPack Day:
On Sunday the 24th November we will all be gathering together to pack all the backpacks with all the items.

Write a card:
We want to put a handwritten card inside each of the backpacks for each child.

Local Impact Project

Job Opportunity Board

Launched 4 August 2024

We are so excited to be launching a Job Opportunity Board!

The current unemployment rate in our country is over 30% and we can all agree that this has a knock-on effect that perpetuates poverty and need in families and communities. We hope to help create a place where people can simply make a need known and connect with each other in this space of employment!
